Shenal Vanderwall CEO Meeedly
“There's always one way to scale any company. Most companies will deny it, but that's the truth. And most VC companies don't want smaller founders to understand those parameters very early so that they can bargain in the investment rounds. You have to be really smart at this!”

The Snowball Effect
It's just like the snowball effect, right? You start from somewhere and keep growing and growing until you reach a point where something is finally working. Many entrepreneurs today often give up too quickly. They try something, and when it fails, they assume nothing will work. However, persistence is key. You must keep pushing through, refining your strategies and identifying specific niches within your means. By doing this, you can showcase your strengths and effectively pitch your ideas to potential customers or investors. The journey of an entrepreneur is rarely straightforward, but those who persevere often find success in the most unexpected ways.
How Does a New Developer Get Experience?
While having a partner is valuable, securing financial backing is crucial for gaining practical experience. Financial support allows you to develop your project more robustly and build a compelling case for its viability. Many influential figures on the internet began their journeys by experimenting with new ideas and tackling projects outside their comfort zones.
This trial and error process is essential for growth and learning. Aspiring developers should not be afraid to dive into new ventures, even if they seem challenging at first. Real-world experience, supported by financial resources, can significantly accelerate a developer's career and expertise.
What Problem Did You See?

Our company was founded on a simple yet profound idea: understanding how people engage in online meetings. We developed an interface that analyzes various parameters to improve the meeting experience. This project was particularly exciting for me, and I decided to share it on LinkedIn.
The response was overwhelming—overnight, we received 50,000 impressions with people constantly asking if they could use our solution. This immediate interest validated our idea and highlighted the demand for innovative meeting tools. It also underscored the importance of visibility and networking in gaining traction for new projects.
Is Meeedly for Internal or External Use?
Our primary goal with Meeedly is to streamline the scheduling process, for both Internal & External Meetings. Typically, internal meetings can be arranged within one to two hours. However, with proper implementation of Meeedly, this can be reduced to five minutes.
The real challenge arises with cross-functional business meetings, which involve coordinating between different domains and time zones. For instance, scheduling a meeting between different departments or even different companies can be time-consuming due to the need to synchronize multiple time zones and availabilities. Meeedly addresses this by offering a seamless solution that simplifies and accelerates the entire scheduling process.
Who Are the Competitors?
While there are several competitors in the market, such as Calendly, our focus is on catering to larger corporations and teams. Calendly and similar tools are excellent for individual and small team scheduling but are not specifically designed for the complexities of large-scale organizational use.
We don't discourage people from using these tools; instead, we offer a solution tailored to the unique needs of bigger enterprises. Our platform provides advanced features that support complex scheduling requirements, making it an ideal choice for large organizations looking to streamline their operations.
What Was It Like Becoming a Verified Application on Microsoft?
Becoming a Microsoft verified application was a significant milestone for us. It means that we now cater to corporate-based companies that utilize Microsoft services. Achieving this status required us to adhere to Microsoft's rigorous protocols for security, data management, and data transfers.
This milestone marks our transition from a tiny startup to a company achieving significant success and receiving feedback from major corporations. Being Microsoft verified not only enhances our credibility but also opens up new opportunities for collaboration with large enterprises that prioritize security and compliance.
What Is the Market Potential?
When discussing market potential, early-stage founders often throw around figures like $20 million, $30 million, or even $100 billion. However, we prefer a more grounded approach. We don't see ourselves as serving a $100 billion market just yet. Instead, our focus is on connecting with as many corporations as possible, as quickly as possible.
Recently, we signed several partnerships that allow us to collaborate with 400 to 600 companies across Australia, the UK, Singapore, the USA, and Canada. By focusing on realistic and attainable goals, we aim to build a solid foundation for long-term growth.
Who Are Your Ideal Customers?

Our primary focus is on solving problems that exist in business-to-business interactions. If you're a business-to-consumer product, Meeedly might not be the best fit for you. However, if you're a business trying to sell to larger corporations, then we can provide significant value.
We assist in facilitating smooth operations and interactions with these larger entities. Our platform is designed to support complex scheduling needs, making it an essential tool for businesses aiming to enhance their organizational efficiency and productivity.
What Is Early Feedback?
We have collaborated with multiple corporations and piloted our product with 10,000 users. The product worked smoothly, and as we onboard new customers and users daily, we ensure our servers can handle the load effectively. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with users praising the reliability and effectiveness of our platform.
This early success has been crucial in refining our product and demonstrating its value to potential new clients. Continuous feedback and iterative improvements are key to maintaining high standards and meeting the evolving needs of our users.
How Do You Scale?
Scaling a company involves strategic planning and execution. It depends on the angle you're looking at. Are you scaling based on the number of companies using your platform, or on how deeply those companies integrate your solution? For instance, you could implement Meeedly for top management or extend it to every employee's email address.
Scaling can focus on user base growth or revenue generation, and it's crucial to maintain this growth sustainably. By exploring different strategies, such as targeting smaller companies after securing larger ones, we can ensure a balanced and effective scaling approach.
What Does the Future of Meetings Look Like in 10 Years?
Predicting the future of meetings ten years ahead is challenging, but it's good to dream. As a founder, I envision a future where Meeedly or similar tools are integral to scheduling various activities. Although I'm only 27, my thought process evolves daily, and I believe the future will involve more seamless and integrated meeting solutions, possibly even through virtual or augmented reality environments.
In ten years, meetings might be conducted through smart glasses or other advanced technologies, making the process even more efficient and interactive. The key is to stay adaptable and continually innovate to meet future demands.
